Fiona Preston was born in South Africa but has spent most of her life in Australia, specifically in Lutruwita / Tasmania. She has also lived in the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia and in New South Wales. She has blogged about exploring coastlines and has been published in local publications. She has worked as a cook in a camp on a remote Australian cattle station, as a bookseller, librarian and as a counsellor and in her spare time enjoys anything and everything to do with coastlines and the sea. This, and a love of nature influenced her novel, Beneath the Wild Fig Tree.
